Question by Lori S: What's a good preschool theme to have for the 2nd week of May?
What's a good theme to have for the 2nd week of May? We're doing
mother's day cards of course, but anything else?

Best answer:

Answer by Summer
Get a bunch of those clay pots and have your kids paint and decorate them for their moms. Then, the Friday before mothers day, plant a little flower in them, like a marigold or petunia or something you can buy in bulk. My mom was a preschool teacher and was good at lots of little projects.

Best answer:

Answer by ~Rock On~
I think a sports theme, or space theme would be cute love the airplane theme sounds very cute!!! I think it would be cute if you had airplanes drawn all over the walls and had them hanging from the ceiling:) lol I remember in my preschool it was so cute we had this corner of the room where every week there would be a new theme and one time it was a space ship and the teach made a huge space ship out of paper you could walk in to and it was awesome!!!! Lol from what I remember anyway:) and one time it was like china and she made the great wall and we ate what they eat there and some time it was a tea party but, I guess that's more girly lol:) So why not make a plane out of cardboard like the space ship I just remember we all love the themes they were so cool!!! Maybe ask the kids for ideals too:) Good Luck I bet your a great teacher!!!

Question by Diana M: Does anybody have an idea for a frog themes in preschool class?

Best answer:

Answer by Kallis
Start with the "frog & Toad" books by Sobel. Good story about the lost button that you can turn into a math lesson. also check out abcteach.com for printables & coloring, if you're inclined that way. You can also hop like frogs, sing "five green & speckled frogs". Sorry.. can't remember more -- it's been a while since I've been around preschoolers.

Easy Preschool Lesson Themes

Posted by chris

Easy Preschool Lesson Themes

There are an unlimited number of potential preschool lesson themes, ranging from animals and insects to people and everyday items. Even colors, shapes and letters can become lesson themes when used properly. For instance, heart shapes and the colors red or pink are common themes for Valentines Day, or linking the color blue to nursery rhymes like Little Boy Blue can be expanded into an entire weekly lesson plan focusing on both the color blue and the letterB. For an extra easy preschool theme, find a nursery rhyme or finger play and work around the characters/activities in it.

If you are looking for easy preschool themes a great place to start is with animals. Most children adore animals,  and ideas for animal themes are easy to find, making this one of the most common categories used in teaching preschool lessons. Animals appear in numerous preschool crafts, nursery rhymes, and preschool games; they come in a wide assortment of colors, sizes, and personalities; and they offer the added advantage of providing a comfortable  platform from which to teach everything from academics to proper behavior. Plus, with such a wide range of options available, you can pick and choose what types of lessons to teach using the animal you prefer. Teach letters from the sounds animals  such as pigs, cats, dogs, and cows make;  or encourage movement by having children act like birds, frogs, horses, and elephants.

Insects are another popular category for preschool lesson themes.  These tiny creatures have a way of capturing the imaginations of children of all ages, but are particularly appealing to very small children. Insect based lesson themes, like The Ants Go Marching, are many times used to teach counting and math skills, and their numerous legs, along with their bright colors, make insects fun to put together as crafts. Bees provide both rhymes and craft ideas and the letter B is an easy emphasis. Spiders, worms, caterpillars, and bugs of all sorts abound in crafts, hand plays, and songs.

Preschoolers love to hear about the people around them, especially those that have interesting jobs, like firemen, or that are doing fun things, like jumping or eating. Nursery Rhymes are full of exciting people doing different things. Use nursery rhymes on their own to develop a lesson theme, or pick an object from the rhyme and focus on that. Preschoolers relate well to characters like Jack and Jill, or Little Bo Peep. Lesson themes can evolve around the characters themselves, as children act out the rhymes, or an object in the rhyme can be chosen and made into a fun preschool craft.

Visit the Weekly Preschool Lessons home page for more information on crafts, preschool lessons, and teaching tips to help you choose great preschool lesson plan themes.

Question by jesusfreak: I'm a preschool teacher's assistant and need some themes?
I'm 16 and work at a preschool. In the afternoons, however, there are also some kindergarteners and 1st grade. I'm in charge of them. There are usually about 5-6 kids in my group. I've decided that I want to do themes. All the activities we do will be based on those themes. For example, if the theme is nature, then we'll do some word games having to do with nature. And we might go on a nature walk or something. Things like that. I need some more ideas of themes. I have quite a few like sports, animals, nature, circus, etc. What are some other possibilties I could do? All answers would be greatly appreciated. Best answer with most good ideas gets 10 pts.

Q&A: preschool themes?

Question by Wonk! Wonk!: preschool themes?
Does anyone have any ideas or reference sites for Manners and Etiqutte themes?

Best answer:

Answer by beckilynn
Try making up songs for manners, like "Please and Thank You" and stuff. It doesn't even matter if the song sounds good, or if you use the same melody for many different themes. The kids will love it and will sing it themselves.
Also, maybe a simon says type of game could work, only use manners and ettiquite themes. Hope this helps!

If you use childcare or daycare in Dallas, it is important to have a back-up caregiver for your child.   Your provider may need to take time off for a family emergency or illness and on occasion your child will be sick and need alternate care.   At any rate, you should have a back-up plan for your child that allows you to get to work. Daycare TermsBe clear that the provider’s vacation and sick-day plans are expressed in written form in your contract.   You should know which cases will require you to activate a back-up plan for your child. Strategies for Finding Back-up CareIn many cases, you can find back-up care in a more informal way.   Begin by asking family and friends who stay at home if they would be willing to care for your child in some instances.   You could also ask other parents you know who stay at home if they could care for your child on an infrequent basis.   If you choose one of these routes, make it clear that you will pay for the services, and also make the rate clear. You can also look for centers or family childcare homes in the Dallas area that provide back-up or temporary care for your child.   These types of programs require a copy of your child’s immunization record and other pertinent information to accompany the child to the program; some programs require preregistration for this type of care.   Additionally, you may be able to contact in-home/placement agencies that can send a provider to your home to care for your child.   Make sure you understand the agency’s services fully, especially the prices, which can be rather high. Items for Your ChildIf you use an agency or facility for back-up care for your child, you will need to prepare a brief information packet about your child.   Include medical information about allergies, medications, and emergency numbers, as well as basic routines for your child.   This will make it easier for the provider to accommodate to your child and be ready for any situation. If your Child is SickBe prepared for days in which your child is sick.   Make sure you understanding the illness policies of the caregiver or center, as well as your workplace policies if you are required to stay with your child on these days.   Discover the many options you have available for care on these days, from friends and relatives to centers and agencies. To see if there have been any valid complaints or information regarding a program, or if you would like more information regarding legal field trip procedures, call the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS), visit their website at www. dfps. state. tx. us, call 1-800-862-5252, or contact your local licensing office.

It takes money to start a nursery and success, it is important to have a clear idea of what will be needed. Daycare business start-up costs can range from a minimum of a few thousand dollars for a home-based operation to over $ 100,000 for a large center in rented premises. Here we will discuss some typical startup costs for a society for the care of children and how you plan and budget for them. Nursery launch costs vs. operational costs Remember to clearly distinguish between the start-up costs from operating costs to get a realistic figure of how much capital you need. The startup cost is the sum of all expenses that will be needed to the point where you can open the doors for business. Operating expenses, other expenses are associated with the current monthly operating a nursery. Finally, the income will cover operating costs and leave you with a profit of every month. Companies may be slow to take off, and you can not reach full capacity and it works fine for some time after starting the business. Therefore, please make sure you have enough money for your business day to cover the costs of starting and operating for three to six months at least. Location and restructuring The main burden associated with running a nursery is access to suitable premises. Just like you can in some cases, save money by running a kindergarten here from your home, you still spend much of your property for this project will not be able to use from your family, for other purposes. This represents an opportunity cost that can be difficult to assign a monetary value. I remember that you may be required to make changes to your house and property to create a "child-friendly renovations could include the closure environment. These a playground or installing gates to keep children falling down stairs. Compliance and security The costs of compliance and security can quickly add many devices and needed to be installed for fire safety fire extinguishers (fire alarms) of children's health (first aid kit), and safety of children. Combine them with the costs of licenses and permits, and you look around $ 300 to $ 400. Toys and equipment Then you must consider all the comforts needed for childcare, entertainment and education and create a pleasant visual environment. You may need to purchase tables and chairs, toys, books, charts, arts and crafts supplies, games and DVD facilities. Requirements vary depending on the market is catering. If you take care of children may need equipment such as cots, blankets and chairs. Children can be very rough on equipment and it should be when the price for children. When you buy toys and furniture are not always the best quality rather than on economic ones, which do not have such longevity. Buying time is a good idea, but just make sure that all the really old equipment complies with current safety standards. If you prepare meals for children on site, then you should also equip your kitchen, if you have not already. Also consider the costs associated with creating a small office with a desktop computer or in a room for you to manage the center. The costs involved here are usually stationary, computer and telephone connection and Internet expenses. General Business start-up costs Some start-up costs of other centers may also include professional fees for lawyers, accountants and consultants. There will be an initial cost associated with your insurance premiums. Daycare Marketing Finally, you have the marketing costs associated with launching your nest beginning. These may include a portion of the opening, pre-launch advertising campaign, and the costs to get your brand well established as a logo, business cards and signs. It 'easy to see how costs can get out of hand from the outset and on an ongoing basis. The key is to budget carefully and buy only what you need to get started. Make a list of priorities and the plan to buy some of the less essential to a later date, when your company is already profitable. Be covered immediately and keep the costs of childcare to start a business to a minimum, while ensuring that you have everything you need to satisfy the customers well.

Are you a stay-at-home mother that needs to find a way to start earning some income with out giving up your time at home?  Well start and running your own home daycare business may be right for you.   Starting your own home daycare business is not as hard as you think.   There a re a few thing that your will need to check and provide prior to opening your doors.   But chances you already have the necessities because you are taking care of your little ones already. The first thing that I would suggest is checking with your states family and daycare licensing center.   Many states allow you to watch a certain number of children without a license, but you may want to check on the requirements to make sure.   If you do go the licensing route, you will be able to charge more per child and may be able to watch more children.   And that means more income. The second thing that you should address is to size up your competition.   Call a few daycare centers and find out what they are charging.   Also find out if they offer any type of curriculum for their children.   Parents will turn over more money if you have a planed schedule that includes curriculum.   Getting this information will help you set up competitive pricing. The third thing that you will want to do is set up a back up daycare provider.   Other home daycare provider should always have a back up provider for emergencies.   They always happen and having a plan in place will help you make your customers happy.   I would suggest 2 back up providers.   You simply need to contact other home daycare providers in your neighborhood and work out a back up plan for those days that you will not be able to watch you client’s children.   It will make your clients lives.   Follow these simple steps and you will have your in home daycare running in no time.

Contact your local nursery and ask state what the law should do and what are its restrictions in reference to obtaining a license for a guard house. Some start not need a license if you see some children, but may require a permit if you want to see 6 or more children at once. Nursery Planning Once you have obtained your license, you can now start the planning phase of home care company. Here, you can begin to design the appropriate forms and programs for children. Here are some of the forms you will need to develop: Business Plan A business plan is the most important document that will be developed. It is also the simplest. The business plan only to identify their business objectives and the calendar you want to achieve these objectives. It is a flexible document and can change at any time as you see fit. Childcare Agreement you can design the contract, at least a monthly contract at a fair price which must be established. Make sure to include expiration dates and needs 2 weeks in advance if they want to terminate the contract. Curriculum Plan You can divide it into smaller, preschool children aged 3 and 4 year preschool update the entry of generic parent form of letters of thanks received payment needs Home Daycare Now that the paperwork is done, we have to make your home ready for business. You may have some furniture to help children feel at home while you watch. You may have to buy some of the following: beds, high chairs, mattresses, tables, layers etc and baby food and nutrition play structures, toys, games and arts and crafts Marketing And now we reach the market your new business. You can post flyers with your name, address and telephone number of your local supermarket. You can also post an ad in your local newspaper. Another solution is to list your car on a website seeking care on the Internet. Do not wait to start making a lot of money the first year of operation. Take some time to develop the business and build your reputation. Always remember that you are trusted with the most precious person. Provide a safe, loving and welcoming.
