Question by Breekie: Where can I find free clip art of preschool/kindergarten children?
Does anyone know a good website where I can find free clip art of children doing things at centers, such as coloring, science center, circle time, letter writing, books, etc. I use yahoo images sometimes but they don't often have children doing center activities. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks!

Try google. Type in a search for free clip art children learning. Then click at the top on images. You'll get a lot of different kinds of pictures. You can also try searching google images for children coloring, children writing, children reading, etc. like this one: http://www.learningbreakthrough.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/01/children_reading.jpg I use google images a lot for this kind of stuff and I'm never disappointed, always find something I can use! You can usually just copy and paste the image either from the search page or from the actual link like the one I posted above. Email if you have any questions about it.

Call the number, you may be able to get a copy of the book. As for teaching lesson, I found this site is easier and follows federal standards too.
http://www.teacherquicksource.com/ I use the Head Start standards, Ohio follows these. The preschool standards is also great for lessons. That said, I think the standards are a bit 'weak'. Still, you know you have your bases covered. Don't forget to teach math and science. This site goes beyond standards, but is very age-appropriate and far better Preschool Rock. My computer isn't bringing it up, hope the site isn't down!

We are doing a craft with our preschoolers where we made an underwater scene on paper and then hand-printed each child to make jellyfish. I was wondering if there was a short, cute saying (poem, etc.) related to fish, ocean to put under our hand prints. We are looking like a one-liner or something short and cute that is preschool aged. There are about 15 different daycares for children in my area and you hear on the news almost dayly about a child being abused in some form or another from a daycare. It really scares me so i want to be extra sure about the one i pick. What questions do i ask and as for references how do i get those and what do i ask of those references etc..If anyone has had this problem or shares the same fear your imput is welcome also. thanks

maybe when you have time,check out all of them.we all want the best care for our kids . Or,you could look in the phone book.but if you have a long cammute and want to get to the daycare quickly or somethin' you may just want to look at all of the day cares and maybe interview the manager and talk to him/her about it. Hope this helps!!!!

A close friend of mine has a 8 month old son and a 3 year old daughter. She often uses this site to randomly check her childrens development. It's quite good and laid out in lists and charts.

Question by Mommy of 2): Why do preschools cost so much? where do I find a part time one for my son?
My son will be 3 in novemeber. We don't have any friends with kids and are totoally out of the loop. I should have enrolled him in preschool already but I didn't because he's not potty trained. Were working on that. My son gets hardley any interaction with other kids other than when we go to the park. I feel bad for him. Are there any cheap preschools?

The term after your child is 3 (in the UK) you have a right to 5, half days a week free. Or you get a voucher iof about £500 a term to spend on a childcare place in private sector.
To find a playgroup etc go to Childcarelink website or try your local library.
Many private nurseries offer a great education and accept your preschool vouchers.
You could also consider a childminder who has kids his age.

I think a sports theme, or space theme would be cute love the airplane theme sounds very cute!!! I think it would be cute if you had airplanes drawn all over the walls and had them hanging from the ceiling:) lol I remember in my preschool it was so cute we had this corner of the room where every week there would be a new theme and one time it was a space ship and the teach made a huge space ship out of paper you could walk in to and it was awesome!!!! Lol from what I remember anyway:) and one time it was like china and she made the great wall and we ate what they eat there and some time it was a tea party but, I guess that's more girly lol:) So why not make a plane out of cardboard like the space ship I just remember we all love the themes they were so cool!!! Maybe ask the kids for ideals too:) Good Luck I bet your a great teacher!!!

Question by Kate: I am trying to find tracing worksheets with partial letters and numbers tracing for kids writing practice?
I am trying to find a site where I can print the worksheets. I can find worksheets with let you trace the complete letters but would like the get a print out of worksheets which contain a progress of tracing. Eg: FIrst 2 lines with complete Trace of letter A. Next line with half letter A so the kid can complete the rest on their own, and the third line with quarter letter and so on.

Also if you know some good interesting preschool worksheets that would be great

I love the website: letteroftheweek.com. I used this for my kids when they were 3K age. After they know the phonetics sound for each letter, they are ready to move on to blends. Then on to reading. The website: starfall.com is good also. You should be able to find several sites for handwriting if you search around. I liked: donnayoung.org & learningpage.com. I actually used the web for 3K but then bought a boxed curriculum for 4K & 5K. To me it was easier to spend approximately $ 35 at the beginning of the year and have everything ready for me. No searching, printing, buying ink & paper.
