Choosing a Daycare Learning Center with Voluntary Pre Kindergarten or VPK in Carrollwood, Tampa, 33625

The free Voluntary Pre Kindergarten or VPK Program is the medium by which the preschool children of Florida are taken care of by the state government. In line with this program, the top daycare learning centers have enhanced their child development programs by integrating the VPK preschool preparatory program in them. The state government of Florida has further developed the program with the issuance of the periodically updated Florida Voluntary Pre Kindergarten (VPK) Education Standards. The goal of this document is to be a guide for all educators, including those in daycare learning centers, and parents in order to maximize the concerted efforts toward preschool child development. There is therefore no reason why any parent in Carrollwood, Tampa, 33625 should not choose a daycare learning center with the Voluntary Pre Kindergarten or VPK Program.

Another document issued by the state government of Florida to serve as a complementary material to the Florida Voluntary Pre Kindergarten (VPK) Education Standards of 2008 is called "It's Okay to Play in VPK." This is a flipbook that aims to instruct educators and parents in how to set up the most effective teaching environments that can help the children learn the skills offered in the VPK Program. Those skills are identified and defined by the Florida Voluntary Pre Kindergarten (VPK) Education Standards of 2008. The two documents can be used together by educators and parents for the benefit of preschool children. Parents can also use these documents as checklists against which they could assess the features offered by those daycare learning centers that have integrated the free Voluntary Pre Kindergarten or VPK Program into their own programs.

The eight developmental domains covered by the VPK program are specified in the Florida Voluntary Pre Kindergarten (VPK) Education Standards of 2008 as Approaches to Learning, Language and Communication, Mathematical and Scientific Thinking, Social Studies and the Arts, Social and Emotional Development, Physical Health and Motor Development and Emergent Literacy.

Scientific research has proven that structured play is the best means through which children learn most effectively. According to the "It's Okay to Play in VPK" flipbook, the free Voluntary Pre Kindergarten or VPK Program uses different types of play activities to teach children the eight developmental domains of child development. These activities are done at home, in the community and in the classroom.

The health and joyfulness of children should be given priority in daycare learning centers as the children are involved in the different activities of structured play that teach the eight developmental domains. This is asserted in the Florida Voluntary Pre Kindergarten (VPK) Education Standards of 2008. The structured activities should be equally divided between active learning and play and between indoor activities and outdoor activities. Teachers of the VPK Program should be friendly, kind, calm and patient.

Also specified in the Florida Voluntary Pre Kindergarten (VPK) Education Standards of 2008 are the requirements for the facilities of daycare learning centers that carry the VPK Program. They should have ample space with equipment that are child-safe, child friendly, clean and in good working condition. There should be an extensive children's library, a dramatic play center, a children's art center, a music center, a sand table, a water table and a play area with educational toys.

A Brighter Future Child Development and Learning Center is a Christian facility in Carrollwood, Tampa, 33625 that offers child development services and childcare for kids from 6 weeks to 11 years old. Its daycare program for preschool children includes the Voluntary Pre Kindergarten or VPK Program. It also has after school child development programs for K, 1, 2, 3, 4 children.

Donate Kindergarten Gowns after Graduation

During graduation day students are excited about the gifts they can receive from their parents after graduation ceremony. In reality, not all students enjoy this kind of benefits given to them during graduation. There are kids who cannot enjoy their own graduation because of lack of financial capabilities to have their own kindergarten gowns.

Sometimes other children chose not to go in their kindergarten graduation because of not having a kindergarten gown. It is a very sad story, but it is true. If you bought your child a new graduation gown and cap, you may choose to donate it instead of burying it inside a box after. By doing this way, you can make a kid happy in their very special day of their life. Here’s how you can donate your child’s used kindergarten gowns.

· First take a look at the condition of your child’s kindergarten gowns. It might have a little damage because of long years of storage. If there is a little damage that can be repaired, try to repair the part. You may also want to wash the kindergarten gowns first before donating. If the color of the kindergarten gown is a little faded because of age. Try to put some fabric coloring that would match the color of the kindergarten gowns.

· You may also choose to send the gown to a dressmaker to fix holes and to make some innovation on the color. Avoid giving student kindergarten gowns that need to be fixed. Some of these kids are orphans, and they do not have parents to take care all of these repairs.

· Call your local kindergarten school at your place. You can speak to the principal or other administrative staff to tell your desire of donating a used kindergarten gown for fewer fortunate students. You have to ask if the kindergarten gown is fit for their need. Generally, all kindergarten gowns are the same, unlike college caps and gowns where there different types of colors and styles.

· Put the kindergarten gowns on a hanger. If the school principal approves the graduation gown that you want to donate place it inside a bag.

· You may also contact some private organizations or orphanage where you can donate your kindergarten gowns. Some orphanages are also having their yearly graduation day for kids. They will be very glad to accept any kind of donation coming from good Samaritans like you. Their need for kindergarten gowns increases every year as the number of the children increases. If these thoughts have touched your heart you may want to donate one kindergarten gowns yearly.

Remember that you do not have to be rich in help others who are in need. You just need a good heart and the willingness to help other people. Instead of keeping these kindergarten gowns together with spiders better make this gown more meaningful by donating then into a school of your desire or in an institution. By doing this you can teach your child about the value of helping other people.

Question by Moni: My son does not qualify for pre kindergarten and I do not make enough money to send him to a preschool.?
I am a single mother and I do not qualify to send my son to pre-k in the state of Texas, however I cannot afford to send him to a preschool...Most preschools are $ 150.00 per week. What can I do? Are there programs out there for my son? Besides at home I want him to start some kind of academic curriculum.

Best answer:

Answer by samira
You can teach him everything he needs to know academically. I would try to find ways to help him socialize with kids his age. Do you have play groups? (In our area we have Family Infant preschool program) they have play groups but the parents are there. What about Sunday school? church groups? What about mothers morning out programs?
Talk to the kindergarten where he will go and find out what he should be learning and what he needs to know by the time he starts kindergarten. You can teach him all that at home.
good luck

From the very first chapter of this informative and inspiring book, a clear picture emerges of how even three- and four-year-olds' capacities for serious authorship can and should be supported.
- Lillian G. Katz
Coauthor of Young Investigators: The Project Approach in the Early Years

By the time they reach preschool or kindergarten, young children are already writers. They don't have much experience, but they're filled with stories to tell and ideas to express - they want to show the world what they know and see. All they need is a nurturing teacher like you to recognize the writer at work within them. All you need to help them is Already Ready.

Taking an exciting, new approach to working with our youngest students, Already Ready shows you how, by respecting children as writers, engaged in bookmaking, you can gently  nudge them toward a lifetime of joyful writing. Katie Wood Ray and Matt Glover guide you through fundamental concepts of early writing. Providing numerous, helpful examples of early writing - complete with transcriptions - they demonstrate how to:
  • make sense of children's writing and interpret how they represent sounds, ideas, and images
  • see important developmental signs in writers that you can use to help them grow further
  • recognize the thinking young children engage in and discover that it's the same  thinking more experienced writers use to craft purposeful, thoughtful pieces.

Then Ray and Glover show you how little ones can develop powerful understandings about:
  • texts and their characteristics
  • the writing process
  • what it means to be a writer.
You'll learn how to support your writers' quest to make meaning, as they grow their abilities and refine their thinking about writing through teaching strategies such as:
  • reading aloud
  • working side by side with writers
  • sharing children's writing.

Writing is just one part of a busy early childhood classroom, but even in little doses, a nurturing approach can work wonders and help children connect the natural writer inside them to a life of expressing themselves on paper. Find that approach, share it with your students, and you'll discover that you don't have to get students ready to write - they're Already Ready

Question by : How can I become a kindergarten teacher with a 4 year degree in psychology?
I am currently a psychology under-grad student. I would like to become a kindergarten teacher. I do plan on getting my masters, but I'm not sure in what. How can I become a kindergarten teacher with a 4 year degree in psychology? Is it possible?

Best answer:

Answer by Rich Z
For public schools in this state (Mass) you need to have teaching courses even if you have a doctorate in psychology. Just knowing facts doesn't mean you can get children to learn them. Try a private school. They don't pay much but they are not very selective in the qualifications of those they hire.

Title: These Are The Days Of Our Lives

Sometimes I get to feelin'
I was back in the old days - long ago
When we were kids, when we were young
Things seemed so perfect - you know?
The days were endless, we were crazy - we were young
The sun was always shinin' - we just lived for fun
Sometimes it seems like lately - I just don't know
The rest of my life's been - just a show.
Those were the days of our lives
The bad things in life were so few
Those days are all gone now but one thing is true -
When I look and I find I still love you.
You can't turn back the clock, you can't turn back the tide
Ain't that a shame?
I'd like to go back one time on a roller coaster ride
When life was just a game
No use sitting and thinkin' on what you did
When you can lay back and enjoy it through your kids
Sometimes it seems like lately I just don't know
Better sit back and go - with the flow
Cos these are the days of our lives
They've flown in the swiftness of time
These days are all gone now but some things remain
When I look and I find - no change
Those were the days of our lives yeah
The bad things in life were so few
Those days are all gone now but one thing's still true
When I look and I find, I still love you,
I still love you.

Question by cowboygirl: How can i become a kindergarten teacher in Oklahoma?
I am seriously thinking about becoming a kindergarten teacher. But i dont know what college classes are required of me to become a kindergarten teacher? And i need details.. I have know idea what classes are required to get a ged or anything like that? so if you say ged or bachelors please tell me what classes that requires of... Thank you!

Best answer:

Answer by Lydie
First, if you don't have a high school diploma, you need to get your GED. No specific classes are required for it - you just need to pass the GED tests. Here's some info: http://www.acenet.edu/AM/Template.cfm?Section=TestTakersInfo&Template=/TaggedPage/TaggedPageDisplay.cfm&TPLID=58&ContentID=20237

To teach kindergarten, you need a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. First, find a college that has that major. Then, once you are enrolled, they will give you a list of classes that you need to take. You will have an advisor who will help you if you have questions. You'll take classes in things like education, psychology, history, science, math, and English.

I am writing a research paper on this topic and I was just wondering how important people think kindergarten is. There are states that require kindergarten but in other states it is optional. For example, in New York kindergarten is optional.
If kindergarten was really that important, they would of make it required in all areas.

The Benefits And Negative Aspects Of Kindergarten

Kindergarten is an exciting time in both parents and children’s lives. Kindergarten is there as a stepping-stone to real academic education. Children are just getting used to teachers, homework and sitting behind a desk. They still get to play, have snack-time, and nap, all while learning and making friends.

Most children attend daycare before school, but by the time kids reach kindergarten age, they are better at playing together and understand the concepts of friendship, taking turns, sharing, etc., as well as being at that age where they start expanding their vocabulary, and picking up various new personality traits. Kindergarten is an exciting time for a parent, just to watch how a child’s mind develops.

Some children may have trouble adjusting to kindergarten. In the United States, as well as many other countries, kindergarten is now mandatory and fully integrated as part of the educational system. In most public kindergarten, kids learn to write letters, read, write, and count. They also start to get homework. Although some schools like Waldorf Education say that a child's development is better supported through fine motor skill coordination in kindergarten, and not so much academic work.

Children might protest, scream, yell, bite, and throw overall tantrums when you cut out some playtime for study time. Remember, this is your child’s first school experience, and it is important to make this as painless and enjoyable as possible, because this can affect how they view school for the rest of their lives.

Also, it's important to remember that you're child cannot fail kindergarten. So it's not really that important that your child completes their homework.  After all, they'll have plenty of time to do homework for years afterwards.  If you choose to not require your child to do the homework, make sure you communicate to their teacher, so their teacher is in agreement with your approach.  And if they are not, you may want to consider a different kindergarten.

Parents, it is important to pick up tips from each other on how to best deal with your kindergarten aged children. If you need some tips on how to make studying fun, visit ParentLearningClub.com , where you can find parents dealing with similar issues.

Children attending kindergarten may also misbehave because along with picking up good habits from their peers, they also pick up bad ones. If you find your child has trouble adjusting to kindergarten, try these tips below to improve their overall behavior:

Improve their diet at home. In kindergarten, they get to eat school lunch, which is usually not healthy in the least - packed with sugar, preservatives and processed ingredients. You don’t have to stop your children from eating this food completely, but making them lunch a few times a week and improving what they eat at home can have a huge effect on their behavior. Children who have lots of sugar are often hyper, cranky and moody, and that is the last thing you want when you sit them down to do homework. Research shows that children with a poor diet are more likely to be anti-social and aggressive. Even if you think you’re feeding your children right, think again. Most foods in the supermarket are packed with unhealthy additives. Canned foods, dried fruits and vegetables, juices, cereals, certain cheeses and cured meats are packed with perseverates, which can negatively affect your child. Visit www.parentlearningclub.com for a full list of foods to avoid. Some good sweets that won’t have a negative impact on your child’s behavior are: agave nectar, stevia, black strap molasses, honey, maple syrup, and natural cane sugar.
Exercise. Exercising is extremely important because kids are meant to be active. Young children, especially those in kindergarten, that act out might just need to be enrolled in a sport, or taken out to play more often. Exercise offers children the chance to exert their extra aggressive energy in a positive way. Also, studies show that children who get more exercise also sleep better, which is something children who attend kindergarten definitely need! Exercise also builds a child’s self-esteem and gives them a healthy sense of self-confidence. For more ways that exercise affects a child’s brain visit http://happychildguide.com/.
Improve sleeping habits. Children in kindergarten do get to nap, but sometimes not enough. Either way, your kindergarten aged child should be getting 12-14 hours of sleep per night. This may seem a little much, but it actually isn’t. Studies show that children who get 12-14 hours of sleep a night are generally less aggressive, and learn better. For tips on getting your child to bed earlier, check out http://www.parentlearningclub.com/.
Reducing TV time. Too many parents let the television baby sit their kids. Even if you think your child doesn’t watch that much TV, it is still probably a good idea to reduce TV time. Television encourages kids to be less active, distracts them from schoolwork, and depending on the shows your children watch, have a negative impact on their behavior.  Not only does television affect a child's personality as they mimic characters they see, but the changing scenes, light and sounds that come from the screen affect their brain functions and cognitive understanding of real life situations.

Those are just some of the physical things you can do to improve your child’s behavior as they attend kindergarten. There are also many psychological and disciplinary actions you can take to help improve your child’s attitude. To find out more, take a look at http://www.parentlearningclub.com/.

Importance Of A Daycare Learning Center With Voluntary Pre Kindergarten Or Vpk In Carrollwood, Tampa, 33625

Child development experts in Carrollwood, Tampa, 33625 will be unanimous in telling parents of four year old pre school children that the best kind of childcare facility they can choose for their kids would be a daycare learning center that incorporates Voluntary Pre Kindergarten or VPK in its programs. But do you know why it is so important to get a daycare learning center that incorporates Voluntary Pre Kindergarten or VPK in Carrollwood, Tampa, 33625?

In January 2005, the state of Florida signed the free Voluntary Pre Kindergarten or VPK Program into law. From the start, it was designed to be a pre school preparatory phase that will teach four year old children the necessary skills to begin learning language, pre-reading, pre-math and social interaction. The Voluntary Pre Kindergarten concept was founded on the scientific truth that between the ages of four and five, children are undergoing the most crucial developments in brain growth because it is at this period that they first gain the ability to focus their attention and follow directions. These developments were proven to be helped along by a structured process of learning.

It is not surprising, therefore, that children who have been given the best early childhood education programs were found by child development experts to perform much better in school later in life. They were found to have better developed language skills and social skills, higher test scores for school readiness, and less behavioural problems from kindergarten onwards. They end up becoming students who are highly motivated, strong readers and with a lifelong love for learning. They are, therefore, deemed to be most likely to succeed in their fields of endeavour.

The implementation of the Voluntary Pre Kindergarten Program law in Florida cannot be handled by just a single entity. It has, therefore, been distributed among different agencies that lead and supervise school districts, early learning groups and private and public providers of the VPK program. Day to day program management is handled by the Agency for Workforce Innovation (AWI); standards, curriculum, and accountability are handled by the Department of Education (DOE); and licenses and credentials are issued by the Department of Children and Families (DCF).

The Voluntary Pre Kindergarten Program is administered in 540 instructional hours during the school year and in 300 instructional hours during the summer. If given within the school year, the law requires that each VPK class should have not more than 18 children. If given during the summer, on the other hand, the law requires a VPK class to have not more than 10 children. In both cases, the ratio should always remain to be one teacher for every 10 students.

To qualify for the Voluntary Pre Kindergarten Program within the school year, teachers should have an associate degree in child development or an associate degree in another field provided they have six hours of credit on child development or early childhood education and 480 hours of experience in child care or education for children up to the age of eight.

To qualify for the Voluntary Pre Kindergarten Program in summer, teachers should have a Florida Educator Certificate or a Bachelor's Degree or higher in early childhood education, pre-kindergarten or primary education, preschool education, or family and consumer science.

A Brighter Future Child Development and Learning Center is a daycare learning center that incorporates Voluntary Pre Kindergarten or VPK in its preschool programs in Carrollwood, Tampa, 33625. Aside from that, A Brighter Future Child Development and Learning Center is also a Christian facility. It also provides childcare not only to four year old kids but for all kids ranging from 6 weeks to 11 years old. Furthermore, its Voluntary Pre Kindergarten or VPK Program is followed through with after school child development programs designed forK1, K2, K3, and K4 children.

Question by Obama is not my president: What is the best homeschool curriculum for preschool & kindergarten?
I use PACE curriculum for my 6th grader but I have one that I am going to be doing preschool with next year & then kindergarten. The PACE system doesn't look that great for children just starting out with no reading skills. To the experienced homeschooling parents, what do you recommend?

Best answer:

Answer by hsmomlovinit
I would personally start with either something like Sonlight or with lapbooks and great living books. Hands of a Child has many, many great lapbook units that are designed for PreK-3; they are skills-based, cross-curricular, and tons of fun.

Teaching Kindergarten Phonics Made Simple

Most children start to learn to read at kindergarten but they are also learning lots of other things to do with communication. They are still increasing their speaking vocabulary, which is very important. As the more words a child can say the more they should understand when you read to them. This is the same when homeschooling kindergarten.

When introducing phonics keep it simple and try not to teach the alphabet sounds, just teach the phonic sounds. These are what the child needs so she can read, not the alphabet sounds. There is no relationship between the alphabet sounds and phonic sounds. They only help to confuse the child.

I like to use the Montessori way of teaching as it combines listening, feeling and speaking. And the kids love it, which helps. Maria Montessori uses sandpaper letters and the kids love tracing the letters. First you start off saying the phonic sound then the children trace the letter while saying the sound. After tracing a number of sounds the children start to make up words.

A very simple system and one that works really well. For example we will use the word ‘bag’. Start teaching the vowel ‘a’ first, then move onto ‘b’ and ‘g’. Maria Montessori likes to join the consonants with the vowel so you will get the children to trace ‘ba’ and ‘ag’. Now it is time to bring in new letters like ’i’ for ‘big’ and ‘t’ for ‘bat’

After the children can say all the phonic sounds place all the letters on the table and say one word ‘bag’ and see if the child picks the correct letters in the correct order. That is the Montessori method in a nutshell. You just keep adding new phonic sounds and words everyday. The advantage with this method is the children learn to write while tracing the letters. Homeschooling Kindergarten made simple!

What Daycare Learning Centers with Voluntary Pre Kindergarten Offer in Carrollwood, Tampa, 33625

Parents anywhere in the United States, and that includes parents in Carrollwood, Tampa, 33625, invest a lot of thought, time and effort in choosing the perfect daycare learning center for their preschool children. From the time that the free Voluntary Pre Kindergarten or VPK Program was signed as law by the state government of Florida, this choice has revolved around daycare learning centers with child development programs that incorporate the VPK preschool preparatory program. Parents generally agree with education experts that the state government's free Voluntary Pre Kindergarten or VPK Program is one of the best things that have happened for the state's preschool children.

In continuing the program, the state government of Florida has developed and issued a crucial reference which is the Florida Voluntary Pre Kindergarten (VPK) Education Standards. This document presents in detail the major components of the Voluntary Pre Kindergarten (VPK) Program. It is updated regularly as a testament to the continuing commitment of the state government to the relevance of the program to the children in the state. The document is therefore used by parents and teachers alike as a handbook to help them work in a holistically designed and coordinated manner with daycare learning centers in the area of preschool child development.

Another reference material, the flipbook called "It's Okay to Play in VPK," was likewise issued by the state government as a complementary document to the Florida Voluntary Pre Kindergarten (VPK) Education Standards. It was designed to further aid in the training of teachers and parents who are regarded as the major trainers of preschool children. "It's Okay to Play in VPK" covers instructions on preparing environments and activities that are most effective in facilitating the learning process for preschool children. Question by emily21182: Can someone help me make preschool and kindergarten music lesson plans?
I was just assigned to be the music teacher at work. I have knowledge of music but do not have formal experience teaching. I work with the kids as an assistant but mostly work in the office. Any tips or suggestions?

It may not be the best answer, as I've never taught children before, however I have experience from looking after younger siblings and babysitting.

You HAVE to get the children involved. Children become bored easily if they aren't involved enough, so try to get every child involved.
You could aim for the children to make a song. Talk with the step by step to what makes a good song, and see if they can make a song using either things found around the classroom or actual instruments.
I don't think it's best introducing kindergarten students to notes and such, but try to get them understanding rhythm by doing a simple 'beat exercise'. Play a song and clap to the beat, then point out a group of children and see if they can carry the beat on.
If you are really looking for something engaging and creative, try getting the children to make their own instruments. It can be hectic, but it's great fun for young children. You can make instruments like drums and shakers easily.
Another fun game is finding everyday objects that can be used to make music, such as a pot of pencils or pans. Children seem to have great fun making music with the most common things!

I hope I helped in some way, and I hope your lessons go well!

BY THE AGE OF 5, MOST CHILDREN IN AMERICA WILL TAKE SOME KIND OF INTELLIGENCE TEST.

Whether your child is going to a private kindergarten or a public school, he or she will most likely be tested—and placed in classrooms according to those results. But information about intelligence tests is closely guarded, and it can be difficult to understand what your kids need to know.

As an expert who has successfully taught hundreds of parents how to work with their own children, Karen Quinn has written the ultimate guide to preparing your child for kindergarten testing. The activities she suggests are not about "teaching to the test." They are about having fun while teaching to the underlying abilities every test assesses.

From the "right" way to have a conversation to natural ways to bring out your child’s inner math geek, Quinn shares the techniques that every parent can do with their kids to give them the best chance to succeed in school and beyond. It’s just good parenting—and better test scores are icing on the cake.
